About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Support Worker to join our healthcare team in Auckland. In this role, you will provide essential care and assistance to patients, supporting their physical wellbeing, daily living activities, and overall comfort.

You will work closely with nurses, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day personal care and support to patients or residents
     
  • Assist patients with mobility, hygiene, dressing, and daily living activities
     
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to healthcare professionals
     
  • Support patients in maintaining independence and dignity
     
  • Maintain accurate patient records and care documentation
     
  • Follow healthcare and safety protocols at all times
     
  • Assist with medication reminders and basic healthcare tasks as directed
     
  • Provide emotional support and build positive relationships with patients and families
     

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
     
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
     
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
     
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism
     
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in healthcare environments
     

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in healthcare support, aged care, disability support, or a related field
     
  • Experience working in hospitals, care facilities, or community healthcare settings is preferred
     

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
     

Required Qualification

  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4)
     

Certifications (Preferred)

  • First Aid Certification
     
  • Manual Handling or Patient Care Training
